Sons of Samcomposed and performed by El Toad Disco
"Sons of Sam" is a 34-minute-long piece composed for a film by young Peter Barlow and released as an EP. The film, Dear Arie, consists of Peter walking through his neighborhood musing his little heart out about whatever comes to his mind, and it is his footsteps that inspired the continuous 4/4 pounding of the drums on "Sons of Sam." The song itself is a wash of piano, screwdriven guitars, looped drones, and synthesizers. This release in particular marked a huge step forward in the progression of my music in terms of composistion and technique, though looking back now, I might have mixed it a little differently.
